چکیده
We present an algorithm to simulate two-dimensional quantum lattice systems in the thermodynamic limit. Our approach builds on the projected entangled-pair state algorithm for finite lattice systems [F. Verstraete and J. I. Cirac, arxiv:cond-mat/0407066] and the infinite time-evolving block decimation algorithm for infinite one-dimensional lattice systems [G. Vidal, Phys. Rev. Lett. 98, 070201 (2007)10.1103/PhysRevLett.98.070201]. The present algorithm allows for the computation of the ground state and the simulation of time evolution in infinite two-dimensional systems that are invariant under translations. We demonstrate its performance by obtaining the ground state of the quantum Ising model and analyzing its second order quantum phase transition.

Entanglement renormalization in two spatial dimensions.
We propose and test a scheme for entanglement renormalization capable of addressing large two-dimensional quantum lattice systems. In a translationally invariant system, the cost of simulations grows only as the logarithm of the lattice size; at a quantum critical point, the simulation cost becomes independent of the lattice size and infinite systems can be analyzed. We demonstrate the performa...
متن کاملWhen the classical & quantum mechanical considerations hint to a single point; a microscopic particle in a one dimensional box with two infinite walls and a linear potential inside it
In this paper we have solved analytically the Schrödinger equation for a microscopic particle in a one-dimensional box with two infinite walls, which the potential function inside it, has a linear form. Based on the solutions of this special quantum mechanical system, we have shown that as the quantum number approaches infinity the expectation values of microscopic particle position and square ...
متن کاملOptimum Block Size in Separate Block Bootstrap to Estimate the Variance of Sample Mean for Lattice Data
The statistical analysis of spatial data is usually done under Gaussian assumption for the underlying random field model. When this assumption is not satisfied, block bootstrap methods can be used to analyze spatial data. One of the crucial problems in this setting is specifying the block sizes. In this paper, we present asymptotic optimal block size for separate block bootstrap to estimate the...
متن کاملDynamical mean-field theory of strongly correlated fermion systems and the limit of infinite dimensions
We review the dynamical mean-field theory of strongly correlated electron systems which is based on a mapping of lattice models onto quantum impurity models subject to a self-consistency condition. This mapping is exact for models of correlated electrons in the limit of large lattice coordination (or infinite spatial dimensions). It extends the standard mean-field construction from classical st...
متن کاملTheoretical computation of the quantum transport of zigzag mono-layer Graphenes with various z-direction widths
The quantum transport computations have been carried on four different width of zigzag graphene using a nonequilibrium Green’s function method combined with density functional theory. The computed properties are included transmittance spectrum, electrical current and quantum conductance at the 0.3V as bias voltage. The considered systems were composed from one-layer graphene sheets differing w...
